This variable polarizing filter is designed for universal use with a 1.25'' filter thread. It allows for continuous adjustment of image brightness, which is very useful for individually compensating for large contrast differences on various observed objects.
Especially when observing the moon and planets, but also during solar observation (with an appropriate solar filter), this filter helps prevent the obscuration of the finest details. It is also useful with a Herschel solar telescope and a large aperture objective to reduce the brightness of the observed object to a comfortable level.
The filter has a wide adjustment range of 40% to 1% light transmission and a neutral gray filtering effect, thereby creating an image that is both comfortable and authentic. It is very easy to use, simply turn the two halves of the housing to adjust the intensity of the filter to your liking.
The filter is made of high-quality optical glass and features a black anodized aluminum housing. It also has a 1.25’’ filter thread on both sides (inside/outside) to allow for the simultaneous use of other color filters.
