This variable polarizing filter is designed for universal use and allows for continuous adjustment of image brightness. It proves very useful for individually compensating for strong contrast differences on various observed objects, such as the moon, planets, and the sun.
Solar observations must only be conducted with an appropriate solar filter. If you are using a Herschel helioscope and a large aperture lens, the variable polarizing filter can reduce the brightness of the observed object to a comfortable level.
The filter has a wide adjustment range of 40% to 1% light transmission and a neutral gray filtering effect, thus creating an image that is both comfortable and authentic. It is very simple to use: by turning the two halves of the housing, the intensity of the filter can be adjusted to your liking.
The filter is equipped with 2'' filter threads on both sides (inside/outside) to allow for the simultaneous use of other color filters. It is made of high-quality optical glass and its housing is made of black anodized aluminum.
