After polar aligning an equatorial mount, the Right Ascension (RA) axis is parallel to the Earth's rotation axis. To track celestial objects over a day, it is sufficient to make a complete turn on this axis in 24 hours, rotating in the opposite direction to the Earth's rotation.

Sky-Watcher offers a motor that naturally rotates at sidereal speed (one turn in 24 hours) but movements are possible in both directions with the handheld controller, at different additional speeds for pointing, for guiding, etc.
