After setting up an equatorial mount, the Right Ascension (RA) axis is parallel to the Earth's rotation axis. To track celestial objects over a day, it is therefore sufficient to complete one full turn on this axis in 24 hours, turning in the opposite direction of the Earth's rotation.
Sky-Watcher offers a motor that naturally runs at sidereal speed (one turn in 24 hours), but movements are possible in both directions with the hand controller, at different additional speeds for slewing, for guiding, etc.
Features
- Motor designed for EQ5 / NEQ5 type mounts
- Sidereal speed (one turn in 24 hours)
- Movements possible in both directions with the hand controller
- 6V power supply, using a battery box (4 LR20 batteries, not included)
