The iOptron® Photron™ Ritchey-Chrétien telescopes are equipped with low thermal expansion quartz primary and secondary mirrors with reflecting dielectric coatings at 93-96%. The RC optical design offers coma-free, spherical and chromatic aberration-free results, perfect for color or monochrome imaging. A fixed primary mirror eliminates the image shift that occurs with other telescope designs. The iOptron RC8 features a 2" dual-speed linear roller Crayford focuser. Three focuser extension rings are provided for a solid "flexure-free" extension to compensate for any unnecessary back focus. Its steel tube is equipped with 10 knife-edge baffles to reduce stray light and improve the instrument for both visual observation and imaging. The RC8 model comes with top and bottom dovetail plates, adding rigidity to the tube while providing attachment points for the mount and other accessories.
