The range of Ritchey-Chrétien Photron™ astrograph telescopes has expanded with the addition of four new truss tube models (10, 12, 14, and 16 inches). Designed for today’s astrophotographers, the Photron™ truss tube telescopes provide a sharp and clear image from edge to edge. The truss tube models are built to uphold our reputation for creating and manufacturing solid, stable, and precise mounts in a high-quality RC astrograph telescope.

The iOptron® Photron™ truss tube telescopes are equipped with low thermal expansion quartz primary and secondary mirrors with highly reflective dielectric coatings maximizing the light reaching your eyepiece or imaging device. The RC optical design offers coma-free, spherical and chromatic aberration-free results, perfect for color and monochrome imaging. A fixed primary mirror eliminates image shift that occurs during focusing with other telescope designs. With a primary mirror accuracy of 1/12 wave or better, our RC telescopes deliver exceptional images and views.

Each Photron truss tube instrument features a dual-speed linear bearing Crayford focuser that can accommodate our optional ASCOM-compatible electronic focusing control. Three focuser extension rings are provided for a solid "flex-free" extension to compensate for any unnecessary back focus. Its structure, made of solid and lightweight carbon fiber supports, securely holds the optics while minimizing weight. Its open design allows for rapid cooling, reducing the wait time before use.
