This variable polarizing filter is designed for universal use and allows for continuous adjustment of image brightness. It is very useful for individually compensating for strong differences in contrast on various observed objects, such as the moon, planets, and the sun.
Observing the sun must exclusively be done with a suitable solar filter. If you are using a Herschel helioscope and a large aperture, the variable polarizing filter can reduce the brightness of the observed object to a comfortable level.
The filter has a wide adjustment range of 40% to 1% light transmission and a neutral gray filtering effect, thus creating an image that is both comfortable and authentic. It is very simple to use: by turning the two halves of the housing, the intensity of the filter can be adjusted to your liking.
The filter features 2’’ filter threads on both sides (inside/outside) to allow for the simultaneous use of other color filters. It is made of high-quality optical glass and its housing is made of black anodized aluminum.
